Apple Bubble Up Casserole

The Bubble Up Casserole is an outstanding dessert that blends the tastes of cinnamon, baked apples, and biscuit dough. The casserole begins with a layer of dough that is made from biscuits that comes in a tin. These biscuits are broken into smaller chunks and thrown into a baking dish where they settle at the bottom. While baking, these biscuits rise and create a bubble.

After the formation of a biscuit base, the apples are placed on top of the biscuits. It is normal to peel and slice apples to thin pieces as they cook and soften quickly. The type of apples can change as per an individual’s taste. While some people like the tartness in Granny Smith apples, other people like the sweeter Honeycrisp or Gala apples. The biscuits only give the casserole more flavor when they are mixed together with sugar and cinnamon and spread all over the apples. The casserole smells like warm apple pies during the process of making it.

To make the casserole richer, butter is added on top of the apples. As the casserole is being baked, the butter melts and starts coming into contact with sugar and cinnamon which results in the covering of syrupy caramel on the dough and fruit.

Apple Bubble Up Casserole retains all the warmth of baked apples blended with biscuits. To start this casserole, a layer of canned biscuit dough mixed into small pieces is used as the base layer. These pieces are then placed inside an oven dish to provide a firm bottom to the casserole which is then baked that allows the base to rise and bubble.

The ingredients needed for making the dish include apple slices that are lain on top of biscuit mixture. The base is made by using peeled apples which are cut into thinner slices and left in the oven to be cooked. The quality of the apple could vary according to taste, as some love the tangy taste baked apple while a majority of users prefer Gala or honeycrisp due to their sweetness. The casserole is prepared in a way that apples mixed with cinnamon and honey sugar syrup are placed on the biscuits adding a fragrance similar to apple pies.

Apple Bubble Up Casserole is then topped with bits of butter for added flavor, this butter blended with cinnamon and sugar. The butter is evenly spread across the apples ensuring the melted butter acts as a syrupy sauce that is poured onto dough and eventually the fruit.

Wouldn’t it be nice to have a dessert that breaks the monotony of long family dinners that seem to never end? Well, this casserole is just what you need. This casserole is perfect for family gatherings or even when having a cozy evening while being wrapped in a blanket. An apple pie with soft, sweet biscuit is its resemblance, and taste-wise, this feast has always remained special to me due to how straightforward it is to prepare it.

Ingredients:

1 can of apple pie filling

2 cans of refrigerated cinnamon rolls, quartered (keep the icing)

Optional: 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts or pecans

Instructions:

This casserole is easy to prepare, as you first need to prepare a mixture of the horseradish sauce, Worcestershire sauce and mayonnaise to top the casserole once it is cooked. Combine the sprinklers together with the onions and I will say it adds a delicious touch to the feast. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and keep a 9×13 inch baking dish aside. Secondly, merge the pie filling in a bowl along with the cinnamon rolls cream filling and quartered cinnamon rolls. Butter the top and sprinkle thin slices on top of the mixture along with optional walnuts and place it in a baking dish. Bake the mixture for 35-40 minutes.

Once out of the oven drizzle the prepared mixture over the casserole, this meal is surely going to become your favorite, especially in fall so serve it warm.
