Here’s a tasty and crunchy recipe for Crispy Parmesan Asparagus Sticks — perfect as a snack, appetizer, or veggie side dish. These are baked (not fried!) and packed with cheesy, garlicky goodness and a crispy coating.
Crispy Parmesan Asparagus Sticks
Ingredients
1 bunch asparagus, woody ends trimmed
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
½ cup seasoned breadcrumbs (Panko or Italian-style work great)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon salt (optional, depending on cheese/saltiness of breadcrumbs)
2 large eggs
Optional: olive oil spray or melted butter for extra crispiness
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
In a shallow bowl, beat the eggs.
In another bowl, mix together Parmesan, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Dip each asparagus spear into the egg, letting the excess drip off, then roll it in the breadcrumb-Parmesan mixture, pressing gently to coat.
Place coated asparagus spears on the baking sheet in a single layer.
Optional: Lightly spray with olive oil or drizzle with a bit of melted butter for added golden crispiness.
Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the coating is golden brown and crispy, and asparagus is tender.
Serving Suggestions
Serve with garlic aioli, ranch dressing, lemon wedges, or marinara sauce.
Try it with asparagus fries-style, cut in half or thirds if your spears are thick.
