This Friendship Spaghetti Pie recipe makes two delicious pies, perfect for sharing with friends or family, or for freezing one for later. A buttery spaghetti crust cradles a flavorful meat sauce and a creamy ricotta cheese filling, all topped with melted mozzarella.
Ingredients:
Dry spaghetti – 1 lb
Lean ground beef – 1 lb
Butter – 4 tablespoons
Yellow onion (diced) – 1/2 small
Marinara sauce – 1 jar (32 oz)
Large eggs – 4
Parmesan cheese (grated) – 1 cup
Ricotta cheese – 1 1/2 cups
Garlic (minced) – 1 clove
Dried basil – 1 teaspoon
Mozzarella cheese (shredded) – 2 cups
Kosher salt – To taste
Black pepper – To taste
Aluminum pie pans – 2 (9-inch)
Directions:
1. Cook the Spaghetti
In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the spaghetti until al dente (according to package instructions).
Drain and immediately stir in the butter to coat the noodles. Set aside.
2. Brown the Beef
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until the beef is browned and the onion is soft.
Drain any excess fat.
3. Add the Sauce
Stir the marinara sauce into the skillet with the beef mixture.
Remove from heat.
