What You Need:
4 cups finely sliced potatoes
two tablespoons of butter three spoons of flour
half a cup milk
1/2 a teaspoon of salt and quarter a teaspoon of finely grounded cayenne pepper
1 cup grated strong cheddar cheese
1 cup finely shredded cheese for garnishing the dish
Instructions for Preparation Scalloped Potatoes
First step is heating butter into a small saucepan while mixing it with one spoon of flour Then stir the mixture frequently
until fully combined, after a minute set it aside.
Pour into a whisked carton of milk and set it inside into a refrigerator Add 1/4th teaspoon of cayenne pepper to the potatoes Leave the mixture for some time Add salt and freshly grounded pepper to taste.
While it cooks over low heat, pour the sauce gently into the pan Continue to whisk it from time to time until the sauce thickens and reaches the boiling point.
Now switch off the heat and add the cheese and mix them on a low flame.
This time spoon half of the sliced potatoes into a casserole dish with a capacity of one quart and drizzle with oil
Transfer half of the cheese sauce to the potatoes
Repeat the layers again where it consists of potatoes and then cheese sauce on it
Finally Add the remaining cheese
For garnishing use some paprika on top
Set the temperature of the air fryer to 350°F without a lid and let it set for an hour.
