Swedish Meatballs with Egg Noodles

 

Introduction

Allspice-ground quarter of the spoon.

Nutmeg – ground quarter of the spoon.

Frying butter: Two tablespoons

For the Sauce:

Butter: Two tablespoonfuls.

Flour: Two tablespoonfuls all purpose flour

Beef broth: two cups

Heavy cream-one cup

Worcestershire sauce -One tablespoon.

Salt and pepper – as required

For the Egg Noodles:

Egg noodles – twelve ounce. Last but not least; use a small amount of butter which is one tablespoon.

Chopped fresh parsley-for garnish

 

How to make meatballs:

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with ground pork, onion, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, salt and pepper, allspice and nutmeg and mix well together.

Make them into little balls which are about an inch in diameter.

Melt 2 tbsp of butter in large skillet over medium heat. Put the meatballs in batches and cook them till they are browned on all sides and cooked through. Set aside.

Make the Sauce:

Melt another 2 tablespoons of butter using the same skillet. Stir in flour and cook for one or two minutes until it turns golden brown.

Scrape off any burnt bits from the pan by continually stirring while gradually pouring beef broth over them.

Add Worcestershire sauce; stir in heavy cream and let simmer until thickened which will take about 5-7 minutes. Salt and pepper to taste.

Place back in skillet covering with sauce for an additional five minutes.

Prepare Egg Noodles:

Follow package directions for cooking egg noodles. Drain then mix with one tablespoonful of butter.

Serve:
